The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of the ten Schools of the University. Established in March 1966, the School has been offering degree programmes in various disciplines. The physical location of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is on the great east road campus of the University of Zambia. The office of the Dean of the School is located in the building near the main University library and Central Administration building.
The School offers four-year programmes leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (specialising in any one of the programmes as listed below), Bachelor of Mass Communication and Bachelor of Social Work. Further, the School offers Masters and Doctor of Philosophy programmes in various disciplines. The Bachelor of Arts programmes are offered at regular, distance learning and parallel mode of study. Further, the School also runs professional programmes at Diploma Bachelors, Masters and doctoral levels.
